Unbelievable ... in the middle of nowhere we hit the small town of Hill End and outside of the pub, sitting on a fence post is a canadian club beer bottle .... just a reminder of our fond affection for all things Canadian!

We went to Sofala and Hill End for a day and had a great time .... but everywhere there were reminders of the fact that wherever you go .... Canada somehow seems to be there too .... i'm wearing a Canada Games '06 sweatshirt (thank you auntie ingrid), and this .... this is what a Maple leaf might look like .... the traditional icon of Kanuk land .....

With our new chickens .... Hester (rhode island red) and Loui (leghorne) .... daddy made the chicken coop for them to sleep in at night. Here they are just getting used to being at their new home. Mummy sais they have to start laying eggs or they'll be dinner .... i wonder if she is serious about that?
